Hunky Dory Cards

I have also started card making again - here are some examples of cards made using the freebies in the Hunky Dory magazine.
I just love the quality of Hunky Dory Card and Toppers.

Five Birthday Cards

2012

It has been so long since I blogged, hopefully that will change.

The year 2011 was so eventful and not in a particularly good way, but a New Year and I am determined to have a positive frame of mind and do all the things I have been putting off doing.

I have already made a start with the scrapbooks - looking at all the photographs has taken me days but
finally the choice has been made and the first page started.

Here is a sneak peak at one of the photos chosen - me Kayaking in 1986

Baby Cards

I have been asked to make some cards for new born babies. These are the two styles that were chosen.

These were made using 'Little One' stamp set from Stampin Up and the sentiment from a set given to me so I don't know the maker.

The waterfall cards were made using my Cricut machine and files from SVGcuts, a great website.

First Holy Communion

Recently it was my Granddaughter's First Holy Communion and this is the card I made for her.
The photograph is not great (I must take some classes in photography). I used the bigshot and a cuttlebug embossing folder to embosss the flowers.

Father's Day Card

Second post today and it is for my Dad. Yes it is a Father's Day Card.
I have used SVG cuts file and my Cricut machine.
Dad is registered blind so I have tried to make the card quite simple but tactile.
Happy Father's Day are cutouts and raised letters and the enjoy is a metal brad.

AWOL

It seems an age since I updated my blog, no excuses just that I have been AWOL but am now back and hopefully will keep the blog upto date.

Here are two of my latest cards. The first one is a thank you card for a wedding invitation received a couple of weeks ago. The card has been sent but you can believe the kind of life I have been having just lately - I sent it without signing.
Consequently I had a phone call asking if I intended to accept the invitation, we laughed when it was realised what I had done.

I have used the Hougie board to make the diamond pattern on the front of the card and the image is from Shoes In Bloom CD from Ooh La La Creations. I made the flower using an SVG cuts file on my cricut machine.

The second card is for a friends birthday, she loves oriental so I think this card is very appropriate.

And the Year Goes On

Hopefully things are now going to get better...
One can hope.

After an awful scare - I was taken ill in M&S (cannot thank the staff there enough) and having lots of tests at the hospital I have been given the all clear, so we can now carry on.

I love SVG files and using my Cricut machine to cut them out, (more about that later). So I have been busy today making an exploding box for my sister.

I used double sided papers from K & Company - Wild Raspberry Speciality Paper.

I downloaded the exploding box files from SVGCuts, which is a fantastic website, Leo and Mary are so helpful and provide lots of inspiration through tutorials and freebies.

Spring is in the air

It is a beautiful day, the sun is shining and the daffodils are looking great. So here is a bright spring a card to go with the day.
I used Hot Off The Press papers, the colours are so cheerful I love them.

Art Deco

I thought that this year was going to get better but it does not seem to be...

Too much sad happenings around me and the world, what would I do without crafting.

I have had a little me time and I have played. I love Debbi Moores images and I have been playing with her Venetian and Paris Premier (art deco) images.
Here are two of the cards I came up with, because the are shaped, an easel fold and a K card the photography is not brilliant. I must invest in a photo box.

This is the K card lying on my table.

Here it is standing on the table.

This is the easel card and I love this image.

Crafty Creations Challenge

This is my creation for the Crafty Creations Challenge which is for a feminine Birthday Card in the colours blue and green. The background papers are my own design using copics pens, big shot with the cuttlebug embossing folder 'Swiss Dots' and the image is from Debbi Moore's Inspiration magazine.

Earth Day

There are times when life crowds in and seems overwhelming, the last few months have been like that. I needed to reflect on everything that has been and is happening around me. As a result I have not been able to be very creative. My time has been spent moving and sorting out the craft room, mundane and routine types of crafting (using the big shot and cricut machine).
But now I feel ready to start card making and scrapbooking again so here is my attempt at making a card for myself.

I enjoyed making it and it will sit on my shelf for a while, then added to my scrapbook.

Tags

I thoroughly enjoyed making these tags for a swap with PaperWishes. I used alcohol ink, paper from Hot off the Press and a face  stamp from HOTP.

The theme was 'Romance'.

I am

You are The Sun

Happiness, Content, Joy.

The meanings for the Sun are fairly simple and consistent.

Young, healthy, new, fresh. The brain is working, things that were muddled come clear, everything falls into place, and everything seems to go your way.

The Sun is ruled by the Sun, of course. This is the light that comes after the long dark night, Apollo to the Moon's Diana. A positive card, it promises you your day in the sun. Glory, gain, triumph, pleasure, truth, success. As the moon symbolized inspiration from the unconscious, from dreams, this card symbolizes discoveries made fully consciousness and wide awake. You have an understanding and enjoyment of science and math, beautifully constructed music, carefully reasoned philosophy. It is a card of intellect, clarity of mind, and feelings of youthful energy.
